The story of this belt begins with natural dyes made from vegetable and mineral materials that have been locally sourced and made in-house.  After several experiments I've created a batch of dyes that bring out the natural grain and character of bark-tanned leather, rather than covering it up.  My goal with these belts is to create something that looks like your Grandad might of worn his whole life, if he spent his life in a saddle or behind the controls of a freight train. All while using the lowest toxicity materials and processes that I can manage. I believe I've succeeded.

Each belt begins with bark tanned leather sourced from animals grown and processed in the U.S. Next, the multi-step dye and oiling process begins, which is followed by a wax edge burnishing and light hand polishing.  Each buckle is solid brass and uniquely aged to be one of a kind, all without using harsh ageing chemicals.  Together each process takes much longer to make than a typical belt would, but I think it's worth it.
